Torqeedo Travel 1003 is the perfect alternative to small petrol outboards, just alot more convenient and cleaner.
The Torqeedo Travel 1003 is comparable to a 3HP petrol outboard.
It will power a tender or inflatable, but is also powerful enough to power small yachts and boats up to 1.5 tons.
The Torqeedo Travel 1003 has high overall power and offers a strong battery capacity, enabling a greater range.
Comes with an integrated GPS information system providing information on speed, battery status and remaining range on a display in the tiller. This information can also be accessed from a Torqeedo smartphone app.
It’s virtually maintenance free and doesn’t leak any petrol or oil so it’s easy to store on-board, in the car or at home.
Fully waterproof (IP67 rated)
It can be recharged from normal household power, from your boat or car 12V battery or from the optional foldable solar charger, even while underway.
The motor weighs only 9kg with an overall weight as low as 13kg. The motor can be easily dismantled into three parts (motor, battery and tiler) making it exceptionally easy to take on and off a vessel plus offers space saving storage.
There’s no diesel to leak into the water, during transport or in storage. Making it safer to store than diesel outboards. Unlike traditional outboards it’s environmentally friendly.

*Speed and range depends on type of boat, load and also conditions. Data is indicative only and do not represent a legal guarantee.
When traveling through water a craft needs exponentially more power to go only a little faster. Doubling the speed requires eight(!) times the power. On the other hand, going slightly slower will dramatically increase your range and running time.
The integrated Torqeedo computer takes the guess-work out of electric boating and gives you realtime information on the remaining range and running time at any given speed. When coupled to the optional Torc-Traq app, this information can also be relayed to your smartphone or tablet.
It’s suitable for inflatables and other small boats. The Travel 1003 easily propels up to 1.5 tonnes and is the preferred model for larger dinghies and small sailboats.
You can charge the battery from mains power with the battery charger supplied in the box. This takes about 5 hours for a 503 battery and 7 hours for a 1003 battery.
If you have an inverter fitted on your yacht or powerboat you can plug the charger in onboard. If you don’t have an inverter you can re-charge the battery straight from any 12V onboard battery by means of an optional 12V charge cable. This will take a little longer due to the lower charge voltage.
The optional Torqeedo solar charger is also an option to extend your range or charge the battery when you are in a remote area, away from any other power source.
If you require extra long range you can opt for the high-capacity battery (916W/hr) or purchase a spare battery
Unfold or unroll the solar charger, apply its waterproof connector to the Travel and get started. You can use it while being out on the water and while operating the motor or you can use it on land. Two different solar chargers are available for the Travel, depending on the model year.
The life expectancy of lithium batteries in recreational use is, more or less, independent of charging cycles. There is no memory effect either, i.e. you can fully charge them after each trip irrespective of the charge status shown in the display. Generally speaking, a capacity loss of approx. 4 % per year is to be expected. Capacity loss will, however, accelerate if the battery is permanently exposed to heat. Also storing the battery always fully charged will accelerate ageing. There are no concerns about using the battery in high temperatures, we recommend that you take the battery out of the sun and store it in a cool place after use.
To maintain your battery, it must be returned to a Torqeedo Service Centre for service 8 years after the date of manufacture.
