Duffy 22’ Cuddy Cabin launched in Airlie Beach QLD for new venture

Airlie Beach has just received it’s first whisper-quiet, emission free electric boat! Tam & Dale Tansley from Airlie Beach DaySailing decided it was time for a change of tack and they swapped their charter sailboat for a luxurious & comfortable Duffy 22’ Cuddy Cabin electric boat for a new venture they are setting up, operating out of Airlie’s Coral Sea Marina. WhisperCruises will offer sunset and scenic turtle watching cruises in a small and private setting, within walking distance from Airlie Beach town centre. Their tours run for an hour and may include up-close sightings of dugongs, turtles, sting rays, sharks or maybe even a croc!

The Duffy 22’ electric boat seats up to 12 people (including skipper) and her 16 batteries offer a full day cruising at speeds up to 5.5 knots. The Duffy 22’ is extremely stable for a boat of that size which results in a smooth boating experience, even when the wind picks up. The Duffy electric boat can be recharged from dock-side power making her very efficient to run and her electric drive system is virtually maintenance free.
