ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Plus perfect solution for Sydney Festival operators
Eco Boats was approached by staff from the Sydney Festival; an arts, performance and culture festival held every year. One of the exhibitions was to be a giant inflatable floating Octopus which would be deployed off Barangaroo and needed to be installed and checked upon daily. The brief was to have a lightweight, safe and easy to operate boat & motor package. Eco Boats supplied an inflatable fitted with the ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Plus electric outboard motor. It runs from itās click-on-top Lithium battery, without the need for flammable fuel nor the cantankery of a pull-start petrol motor. At the push of a button, staff members could inspect the floating exhibition, adjust the mooring lines if necessary and then pull the boat and motor easily from the water for overnight storage.
Created by the multi-disciplinary MÄori artist Lisa Reihana, the giant Octopus āTe Wheke-a-Muturangimā was part of the 2023 Sydney Festival.
