The all-new ePropulsion SPIRIT 2 marks a significant evolution in compact electric propulsion, combining enhanced power, smart design and the eco-friendly performance that boaters have been waiting for. Building on over a decade of innovation in electric outboards, the SPIRIT 2 brings a host of upgrades that make it ideal for dinghies, tenders, sailboats and day cruisers alike.
At its heart is a 2 kW continuous output motor with a 3 kW Boost/Sport mode for extra thrust when you need it, effectively delivering the equivalent performance of a 6hp petrol outboard — but with quiet, clean electric power. The motor pairs with a 1,539Wh quick-connect lithium battery, offering a balance of impressive range and portability without the noise and fumes of combustion engines.
The SPIRIT 2 is a new addition to the ePropulsion product range, the SPIRIT 1.0 will remain available going forward.
Smart, Portable and Packed with Features
The SPIRIT 2’s design emphasises ease of use: a lightweight profile (around 20kg for motor and battery combined) makes it effortless to transport and mount, while features like a detachable clamp, foldable tiller, full-colour display, and adjustable trim/tilt improve comfort on the water. Hydrogeneration capability enables charging while sailing — a valuable bonus for cruisers — and a USB-C output lets you use the battery to power devices when ashore or at anchor.
Performance figures vary with conditions and the type of boat it’s used on, but the SPIRIT 2 can achieve top speeds close to 10 knots on small hulls and offers practical runtimes for typical day boating, tender runs and fishing outings.
