The Cruise Fixed Pod motors are the perfect electric pod motor for small displacement boats and yachts.
The Cruise 2.0 FP is comparable to a 6HP combustion motor (in thrust).
The Cruise 4.0 FP is comparable to a 10HP combustion motor (in thrust).
Pod motors are installed underneath the hull (submerged) so it’s invisible with no space taken up inside the boat.
If you have a larger boat then we recommend the Torqeedo Cruise 10.0 Fixed Pod.
The Cruise electric pod motor range comes standard with a 3-blade fixed propeller but can also be fitted with an optional folding propeller for sailboats. This reduces the overall drag of the entire unit to less than 0.2 knots of speed whilst under sail.
The Cruise Pod motors come with an integrated GPS information system providing information on speed, battery status and remaining range, displayed on a screen integrated in the tiller or in the remote throttle.
Despite its exceptional power, the Cruise 2.0 FP /4.0 FP remains lightweight at only 16 kg.
The Cruise FP pod motors need external batteries to operate.
The Cruise 2.0 FP needs at least one Torqeedo Power 26-104 Lithium battery or a 24V lead-acid battery bank.
The Cruise 4.0 FP you need at least two of the Torqeedo Power 26-104 Lithium batteries or a 48V lead-acid battery bank.
The size/capacity of the battery bank depends on the speed and also the range you require.

Cruise 4.0 FP | $6,380 |
CRUISE 2.0 FP with 2 X 12v / 200Ah lead-acid batteries (battery weight approx. 120kg).
For motorboats and sailboats up to 3 tons.
Speed in knots (km/h) | Range in nm (km) | Running time in hours:
Slow | 2.7 (5.0) | 27 (50) | 10:00 |
Full throttle | 6.0 (11.1) | 12 (22) | 2:00 |
CRUISE 4.0 FP with 2 X Power 26-104 Lithium batteries (battery weight approx. 48kg).
For motorboats and sailboats up to 4 tons.
Speed in knots (km/h) | Range in nm (km) | Running time in hours:
Slow | 2.7 (5.0) | 29 (54) | 10:45 |
Full throttle | 7.0 (13.0) | 8 (15) | 01.10 |
*Speed and range depends on type of boat, load and also conditions. Data is indicative only and do not represent a legal guarantee.
All Cruise FP models are suitable for medium size motor boats and sailboats. For dinghies and sailboats up to 3 tonnes, we recommend the Cruise 2.0 FP. The Cruise 4.0 FP easily propels boats up to 4 tonnes.
The on-board computer, which is integrated in the remote throttle with the Cruise FP analyses information from the motor and combines it with GPS data. Motor consumption and GPS speed are always exact. When the Cruise FP is operated with the Power 26-104, the information on the battery and on range with remaining capacity is also exact because both products communicate with each other. That is very convenient.
Yes, but with limitations. If the Cruise FP is operated with lead batteries the charge status indicator (and with it the remaining range indicator) is based on estimates derived from battery information entered during initial motor setup.
As a lithium battery, the Power 26-104 provides far greater performance with lower weight than conventional lead batteries. In other words, it does not weigh down your boat unnecessarily – and you benefit in terms of range and power. In addition, the integrated battery electronics of the Power 26-104 are designed to communicate with the on-board computer, meaning that the values provided by the battery such as remaining range and capacity are always exact.
The Cruise FP electric pod motor is designed to be mounted underneath the hull (permanently submerged). It has 2 threaded studs that will need to go through holes in the hull to secure the motor on the inside with bolts & washers. The electric pod motor comes with a plastic flange that can be shaped/sanded to follow the curve of the hull at the mounting surface. There is a small controller box that needs to fitted inside the boat., as do the batteries. The Cruise FP motors can be supplied with an optional folding propeller (FlexoFold) for improved performance whilst under sail.
WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON THE CRUISE?
The Cruise FP models have 2-year warranty from the date of purchase for non-commercial use.
