SHINE FLEXIBLE SOLAR PANEL – MADE IN CHINA

Flexible solar panels - Shine

Shine is a reputable Chinese manufacturer of flexible solar panels. Like Solbian, they use SunPower cells, but the flexible resin is not as durable and not as UV resistant. These panels are a great choice for the budget minded or for those that have a boat or campervan that isn’t constantly exposed to the weather.

BENEFITS OF FLEXIBLE SOLAR PANELS

Solar panels are the ideal way to keep your boat’s (or Caravan/RV’s) power systems in good condition, whether its an electric, diesel or petrol powered boat.

CONSTRUCTION

At just 1/8th the weight of a standard domestic panel, our flexible solar panels are the ultimate in lightweight, monocrystalline solar. Panels are constructed with highly efficient solar cells supported in a unique polymer allowing for flexibility and significant weight reduction. These panels have no aluminium or steel backing like traditional solar panels, which means they are extremely lightweight. At just 1.5mm thick and weighing from 600gm, they are the thinnest and lightest panels available.

INSTALLATION

Their light weight and small size means panels can be sewn into your bimini top or shade structure with a zipper to make use of otherwise vacant space. They are strong, reliable and also tough enough to be glued directly to the deck. When the panels are mounted on a solid surface you can even walk over their surface without causing damage. With their ‘non-glass’ construction, they are flexible and will bend to match the contours of your deck.

Easy to setup, you can install most Solar set-ups yourself. Alternatively, you can use any marine electrician to do it for you. Please note that Eco Boats Australia does not carry out installations.

All panels have the attachment options of zippers, stainless steel eyelets or a self-adhesive backing. You should always use a matching solar charge controller because each panel has a different output voltage. This will also maximize the efficiency and thus output of your flexible solar panel.

Connection

BATTERY CHARGING

You can use flexible solar panels in lieu of running the motor, generator or plugging into shore power. It also saves fuel and provides a quiet alternative to noisy generators.

BATTERY MAINTENANCE

To ensure a long life of your expensive battery bank it is essential to keep your batteries topped up at all times. A solar panel will keep your batteries fully charged and healthy, even when you’re away from your boat.

BATTERY RUNNING APPLIANCES/SYSTEMS

If your boat is fitted with electronics that require an ongoing power source such as an automatic bilge pump, fridge, security system or automatic lights, solar panels will (assist in) providing the power to run these appliances even when you don’t have access to shore power.
